My students seemed very anxious about the winter this week. Though I sometimes paint evil pictures of shoulder high snowdrifts and temperatures which come close to absolute zero for students who come from tropical countries, I don’t want them to miss the magic of Autumn.
This is a beautiful time of year. My neighbourhood still has lots of colour. The leaves haven’t all fallen, and though the temperatures often favour the wearing of that comfortable sweater, there are also a few odd days of warmth.
I came across this leaf sitting on a feature in my front yard. This single leaf found a destination that no other leaf had. If only we all had that independent spirit of mind to choose the path not taken by others.
