My Extra Time

Good Things I am doing while at home and when students don’t log on to online classes

  • cleaning stuff that needs cleaning
  • organizing stuff
  • stretching
  • making (and then doing) reasonable/achievable to do lists
  • preparing for subsequent classes
  • getting through some of the backlog on my PVR
  • commenting on more blogs
  • give more attention to my cat
  • decluttering and getting through the paper stacks that I have
  • eating stuff from the pantry that I would probably overlook

Bad Things I am doing while at home and when student’s don’t log on to online classes

  • wasting a lot of time on the YouTube watching people
      • organize their tools
      • build dream workshops
      • pursue their hobbies with vigor, talent, and tools that I cannot afford or house
      • fix/restore bicycles
      • compare tool boxes
  • not write my own blog
  • not read enough
  • not using the time to write a great novel or short story
  • looking at stamp auctions on Ebay

How about those of you who are  newly working from home or those of you who find yourself without work; how are you coping?

About Anthony

I am: equal parts rebel, romantic and shockingly average Joe. a writer trapped inside of an ESL teacher's body. an introverted attention seeker. a teacher who hopes one day to be called "Captain, my Captain." an intellectual who can do some very dumb things. a person whose Japan experience, despite being so long ago, still exerts a strong influence upon him. a lover of books, music, beer, hockey and Pizza.

I’m not getting enough getting up and walking about 😦

  2. Funny, sort of. I pouted for a week then got back to doing what I was doing before returning to the workforce in February. That was certain short lived! I am still packing, albeit without enough boxes and now an unclear decision for a moving date
Reading more, upped my time online (oops), pondering my nearly 63 years and my expected time left (scary), more reading, lots of time with my cat, Musa a.k.a. Dr. Musa. Also trying to put some bright spots of cat silliness on Instagram (my relatively new attempt at remaining connected yet socially distant)

I’m busier than ever because most of what I do is from at home and online having to do with some kind of entertainment and that kind of thing is in demand right now! 😮

I wrote the following on another friend’s blog.

No a lot has changed in my daily live. Having been retired for 10 years, I have lots of practice in self isolation. I still, bike, walk and meditate every day. (I have a free app that brings me to a “York Peppermint Patty” place when I meditate. I have the NY Times delivered weekdays and the Boston Globe on the weekends. The Washington Post is not available anywhere around here. Over the past months, I have checked every business that I shopped to find the Post.

I have always been a movie fan and really like going to the show. Hulu, Netflix and Apple TV are filling that void for me.

    All the best to you.
