20191013_153208Blogging about Thanksgiving can be a bit hard. I’ve written posts about being thankful.  I’ve written posts about why Canadians celebrate in October rather than November–we want to avoid turkey induced comas two months in a row.  I am sure every year I remarked on the family get together and the grouchy fights that ensue but are soon forgotten.

So where does that leave us?

Well, I am still thankful. My life is pretty good these days.  A summer of bike riding has left me a bit fitter–though discovery of green tea kitkats has done some a bit to nullify that.  I’m in a relationship and those family fights round the turkey carcass didn’t seem to damage that.  In fact a slightly wind chilled hike didn’t even manage to rip that apart–though family Christmas and desperate New Years plans have yet to play their cards.

I am thankful for work, despite looming Union action and what may prove to be contentious negotiations. The damage is done and I doubt things will ever be the same.

I am thankful for this blog.  It continues to be something I am pas20191013_152946sionate about.  I still like putting words on these digital pages and see no signs of it stopping.  I hope it is improving both my writing and my sense of humour.

The turkey was good and the fall colours were awesome. What more should I say.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

I do the Thanksgiving thing but am not a fan of the day. Personally, I would rather have a cup of soup and some PEI mussels. Also, all the best to the union and their fight for the workers. Keep writing. There are many of us who are fans.

I didn’t know Thanksgiving was in October in Canada! I can’t believe I’m just finding that out now. I hope you had a great day, Anthony! 🙂
