A Thought on Sleep

Catching up on sleep is a phrase people have used my whole life. I’ve heard it muttered by family members, friends, and even strangers on the bus.  And while I understand it, it does make me wonder.  If you can catch up on sleep, can you bank sleep?  Could I sleep double today and not sleep tomorrow?

The obvious answer seems to be no, but what if you could?

About Anthony

I am: equal parts rebel, romantic and shockingly average Joe. a writer trapped inside of an ESL teacher's body. an introverted attention seeker. a teacher who hopes one day to be called "Captain, my Captain." an intellectual who can do some very dumb things. a person whose Japan experience, despite being so long ago, still exerts a strong influence upon him. a lover of books, music, beer, hockey and Pizza.

I don’t know, Anthony, but I’d just be happy to sleep well one night a week the way things are going lately! 😛 I’m always so tired!

It seems the older I get the less I sleep. I’m turning in to my grandfather.

I actually do think you bank sleep! Sometimes when I sleep the entire day, the next day I wake up super early & don’t get tired until latelate.

Gosh, I don’t know but I sure wish it was possible! I doubt that it is but I’d love to take months out to take advantage of the amount of sleep I’ve missed out on in the last couple of years!
