This picture doesn’t have a lot to do with This Weekend’s Perfect Moments, except that I took this photo while I was out riding on Sunday and I liked it.
Having not written Today’s Perfect Moment since Friday (and I am not even sure I managed to get a post out Friday morning) I am going to have to write about This Weekend’s Perfect Moments. I did write Sunday night about my ride, and a part of that will factor into this collection of moments, but I didn’t write about Today’s Perfect Moment.
Here they are in no specific order;
My niece spent some time with me. She’s pretty shy, so I am always happy when she takes a few moments to spend with me. The birthday party was seemingly too loud for her and she was not necessarily appreciative.
Later on in the afternoon, the colouring book I gave her and my nephews got a bit of a workout when they all sat down to colour–perhaps as a break in the action. They weren’t responsive when I gave them the books (not the main present, bur rather a spur of the moment dollar store purchase) but they came in handy later when the crowd thinned out and the little ones wanted some chill time.
I am also thankful that my niece seems to have taken a shine to my girlfriend.
My younger brother and sister gave me some compliments. I won’t go into details because although they are definitely perfect moments, I want to reflect on them a bit more before I decide whether or not to share them. Needless to say, I was quite touched.
The weather was great and the views from the bike, the car, and on foot were excellent.
There isn’t much more I can say about that.
A fellow rider in the club gave me a virtually brand new tire for my bike. I can probably ride this for a few weeks before I decide to replace both my tires. Then at least I will have a spare.
The etiquette of cyclists is alive. I have been thinking that too few cyclists have been waving as they passed as of late. Although that is true, all the ones who passed while we were fixing the flat asked if they could be of assistance. Perhaps, I was being too judgemental.
I ate some pretty good food over the weekend. Whether it was the burgers on Friday or the burritos at the birthday party, my stomach was satisfied.
I spent time with my girlfriend.
I am getting stronger on the bike.
Lunch for work is prepared and ready to hit the lunch bag.
