It is no secret that I am a big fan of Notre Dame football. This year they were scheduled to take on Clemson in the Cotton Bowl (forgive me, I don’t remember who the sponsor was–actually, I remember, but I don’t need to write it on my blog. If I did, I would start ranting about corporate sponsorship and naming rights and probably wouldn’t stop until my blog got sponsored by some corporate entity…..)
Wow! I went way off track there.
So, my friend suggested we watch the game together. My friend is a 49ers supporter, so this game didn’t mean much to him, but it was a chance to get together. Also the Canadian Juniors were playing hockey that night and we are all big fans of this.
Little did I know that my friend would go the extra mile (odd use of idiom for me as we use Kilometres in Canada–but you get the idea). He bought shirts for the occasion, decorated his place, and was the best host.
We had a great night of football, hockey, and movies. We drank beer and had burritos delivered. Sadly, The Fighting Irish were completely outclassed on the big stage. The Toronto Maples Leafs had their worst outing in a while. However, the juniors were quite good and that kept the celebration going.
It is New Year’s Eve as I write this, but I cannot understate the importance of friendship. I have the best friends in the world.
That is because they hailed from Malton. Something about that place. Glad you were happy. We talked about Clemson today. Hunter lived with big Clemson supporters. Happy New Year little brother. Hope 2019 is all you hope it will be. Love you.
Happy New Year to all of you guys.
Aww sounds like such a good time. Love that he really set his place up for the night. 🙂
I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating. My friends are awesome. Thanks Hunida.
