I hadn’t felt the vibration of my cell phone. The reasons for this are either the fact that it rings so infrequently that I can’t recognize when it is happening or I frequently leave it somewhere, only to come back later and have to deal with the messages…..well probably just message.
When I checked my cell phone yesterday, I noticed that I had received a text. My phone is good about showing me a preview of the text (or email) before opening it. The one I got had the title line. Magnificent creature? I can’t say I wasn’t thrilled, but honestly wasn’t sure what I had done to earn such praise. If I had been out on a date and received that…well, that would be flattering.
As it was, one of my co-workers was just thanking me for actually making a lesson plan for the class she was covering. I had decided that a long weekend was something I should definitely have, so I needed someone to teach for me. When I take time off, I always prepare a lesson for the substitute. Often the sub doesn’t do it….but I still make the plan.
A quick side note: apparently this is rare as my boss had to notify everyone in a strongly worded email that a plan for the substitute was necessary when taking time off.
I just thought it was courtesy and professionalism. I am not sure it warranted “magnificent creature” but hey, I’ll gladly take the compliment.
