Despite the weather, today was a pretty up day. In fact, I am a little hard pressed to choose Today’s Perfect Moment. However, rather than lay them all out, I will pick one.
Today, while leaving work, I found myself in the elevator with, arguably, the most attractive person in the office. We have an amicable relationship and I have no intention of ever hitting on her.
I have to make that clear so as to differentiate this post from the many where I chronicle crossing paths with beautiful and interesting women on the bus, at the bookstore, and outside the supermarket which has a gym on the second floor (that happened today). This is not that kind of story.
Instead, she remarked that my hair was acquiring (my words, not hers….I don’t remember it enough to quote) a bit of a salt and pepper look. Normally, this would not make me feel good. Nobody wants to be confronted with aging. However, she followed it up with an earnest, “and it looks really good on you.”
To think, I had been planning on taking the stairs.
I thanked her and made my way to the subway station. The sidewalk was covered with slush and ice….but I didn’t even notice.
Reblogged this on LIFE STORY'S FROM LINCOLN.
The “salt & pepper look” is a compliment!! Lots of people are into that now haha
