Recognizing and celebrating milestones is not something I am particularly good at. It isn’t that I don’t appreciate them it’s just that I don’t feel comfortable drawing attention to them. While I think modesty and self-deprecation as good things, I have come to recognize them as faults too. In the world we live in, it is necessary to call attention to your achievements and rejoice in them. If you don’t, people might overlook you.
Today’s celebration is in honour of attracting 400 followers to the blog. When I looked toward this (from a number a long way south of one hundred), I figured that I wouldn’t even talk about it until it got to be 500, or maybe even 1000. It is only in the last couple of hours that I convinced myself that this was something that should be noted too. The truth be told, every new follower is worth talking about.
The old me would have ranted about having lots of followers but not so many views. The new me says thank you to those who are reading and an even bigger thank you to those who have commented. I have met some wonderful people through this blog (Donna, Heidi, Britt, Sarah, Julie, and Quinn–I shouldn’t really single people out, but these are the consistent and most supportive ones–a special thank you for you) and that is worth more than any number of followers.
The best part is that I am still enjoying blogging and wish I had more things to write about. There are Perfect Moments every day, but not all of them spark the desire to write about them. When I first started this blog, I needed to write every day. Fortunately, these days, I can choose when I want to write. That’s pretty fantastic. That’s pretty Perfect.
Thank you all that have stopped by and thank you all those that have chosen to follow this blog. I appreciate that you found this blog worthwhile.
Hi new friend. Congrats. Look forward to reading more from you.
I think you’ve got a great blog and I enjoy reading! Keep up the good work.
Chad
Thanks Chad. You’ve also been very supportive.
👍
Congratulations, Anthony! I hope your blog continues to grow and bring new friends into your life — but more than anything, I hope you continue to enjoy writing it. Cheers to you from just across the border. 🙂
Thank you for your encouragement and support. It is appreciated–even as I face the prospect of a day of drudgery at work.
Your perfect moment blog has become one of my perfect moments. Keep it up.
I’m so glad you commented on my blog post today. I came here and was surprised to find that I was no longer following you. Not sure how that happened, but WordPress does funny things sometimes. I’m following again and glad to be among the 400+.
Thank you so much. Glad you’re back.
