May 20, 2014 Repo Man Revisited

Today’s perfect moment is not an event, or even action.   It is a thought.  A random tumble of neurons and electrical impulses that gave rise something.

I was watching Emilio Estevez in Repo Man–perhaps his finest work if you do not count Mighty Ducks.  While this is not a great movie, it did contain a lot of great lines, a lot of weird lines and some pretty unusual stuff.

I digress.

The thought was that I really enjoy movies.  The good ones, the bad ones, and especially the quirky ones really entertain me.  If I am having a less than stellar day, a movie can really pick me up.  Today it was Repo Man.  Tomorrow it could be Lost in Translation.  Either way, movies can really tap into something.

About Anthony

I am: equal parts rebel, romantic and shockingly average Joe. a writer trapped inside of an ESL teacher's body. an introverted attention seeker. a teacher who hopes one day to be called "Captain, my Captain." an intellectual who can do some very dumb things. a person whose Japan experience, despite being so long ago, still exerts a strong influence upon him. a lover of books, music, beer, hockey and Pizza.
